If you’re planning a Nerf-themed party in the near future, we’ve got a few pointers for you. Here are a few of our favorite Nerf party ideas, decorations, games and activities for your next backyard bash.
NERF Themed Party Ideas
Create your bases, battleground, and DIY Nerf Targets to get ready for your Nerf gun party. This is the most time-consuming phase, so begin well ahead of the party.
With these simple DIY party ideas, you’ll be shocked with how easily you can convert your backyard or basement into a Nerf War. Additionally, constructing these bases and targets at home will save you money.
NEFR Themed Party Decorations
Because the Nerf colors are blue and orange, you can decorate the party in those hues.
Cover your party goodies table, food table, and the table where the kids will eat pizza with orange, blue, or camouflage tablecloths.
Plain orange colored plates or Nerf party plate sets are available for plates and napkins.
Finally, to round off the look, hang some orange and blue steamers. Tape a couple Nerf bullets to the streamers if you want to go really creative.
Battlefield
A battlefield and bases are required for a Nerf War. It will provide a safe haven for the children to duck, hide, and shoot. It also appears to be cooler, particularly if you have an open garden or basement.
The first step is to collect large empty boxes of various sizes and shapes. Solicit some from your friends and neighbors. Alternatively, inquire at your local or grocery shop.
Table setting
Set up a table with all of the children’s favors near the entrance to the party. To make it more festive, use an orange tablecloth and orange streamers. Place the nail apron packed with 10-20 bullets, safety glasses, and a Nerf gun, if applicable, on the table.
Bandannas can be cut lengthwise and tied to the arms of the children to distinguish the teams. Choose two colors, one for each side, and put them on their nail aprons.
Nerf gun balloons
Nerf gun balloons will take your party to the next level, and your young attendees and their parents will be amazed.
Of course, if the Nerf gun balloon is too complicated for you, you can go for a simpler but still impressive balloon show like this, which uses the classic Nerf colors of blue, orange, and white.
NERF Themed Party Games
Do your children adore Nerf guns? From shooting DIY nerf targets to full-fledged Nerf War Games for parties or at home, it’s a terrific way to keep your kids entertained.
Here’s a mix of fantastic Nerf Gun Games and DIY Nerf Targets to help your kids have a blast at parties with their Nerf guns.
Nerf Battle Games
Getting a bunch of youngsters that enjoy playing with nerf guns together might be a fun way to spend an afternoon outside. Instead of just letting kids run around shooting each other, try these game ideas to give the afternoon a little more organization and fun.
For the sake of safety, you’d make it a rule that no headshots are allowed in any of these games.
Tag “freeze”
You divide the children into two teams for Freeze Tag. You must freeze at your place if a player is hit by a gunshot. The only method to unfreeze a player is for a teammate to tag them or for a nerf bullet to hit them.
The goal is to freeze all of the players on the other squad first.
The squad that is unfrozen at the end of the game wins. Setting a timer and seeing who has the most people unfrozen when the timer goes off is another way to play this game.
Playing “Hide & Seek”
Why not turn hide & seek into a Nerf game? One squad is the hiders, while the other is the seeker.
The hiders flee and take cover. All of the hiders must be found by the seekers. The hiders face a hurdle in that they can shoot the seekers from their hiding place, knocking them out of the game. When the seekers find the hiders, they shoot them and they are knocked out of the game.
If the hiders shoot all of the searchers, they win, and if the seekers find all of the hiders, they win.
Zombies
Divide the children into Humans and Zombies teams for this game. Nerf guns are available for humans to use. The zombies try to avoid being hit while attempting to tag the humans. They are eliminated if a person is tagged, and they are eliminated if a Zombie is hit. At the end of the game, the team with the most players wins.
Make the Humans shoot with a gun that can only hold a few bullets at a time to make it more fair. As a result, when the humans reload, the zombies have a chance.

Extra
Though Nerf guns are safe when used properly, group Nerf games can become heated if children aren’t given clear rules and boundaries to follow.
The easiest approach to ensure that your party works successfully is to establish some ground rules before your kids arrive.
While playing, all kids should wear protective goggles. It significantly increases the safety of all Nerf games.
The last thing you want is a sobbing child, and the face is one of the most sensitive parts.
If someone is upset or distressed, or simply wants to leave the game, it’s critical that everyone understands when to back down and allow them to gather themselves or leave.
Place the rule boards near the front door or at the entrance of the house/venue to ensure that all children and parents see them before entering.
Organizing a Nerf-themed party for your kids is sure to be a blast, so take advantage of it!
