Garden parties are a terrific way to have fun all year long. Outdoor party ideas, party food ideas, themed party ideas, and party decoration ideas are all included in this blog post, so you should have as much fun as your guests.
Based on my most recent throwing experience, here is some advice on how to stay organized, plan, prepare, and host a terrific garden party with ease.
Work out how many people your outdoor living areas, gardens, and patio furniture sets can comfortably hold – exactly as it is – before I send out an invitation, bake one dessert, or clean the guest bathroom.
Then figure out where I’m going to get extra seating, chairs, and side tables to help seat and serve people, as well as how I’m going to decorate my garden, porch, or patio.
The sales are currently underway. If you’re searching for something different, check the sales at One Kings Lane or Joss and Main for patio furniture clearances or summer sales and outdoor party supplies to bring your summer party ideas to life.
To make my dinner setting look’really exceptional,’ I use what I have in my dining room. My table looks pretty beautiful thanks to the use of urns or champagne buckets for flowers, as well as the placement of sweets on lavish cake stands. My guests feel distinguished as well when I use your best linen napkins.
Even the simplest garden dining table is dressed with beautiful tablecloths, proper table arrangement, name cards, and decorative centerpieces. Add quirkiness to your dinner table with more than flowers.
Fill a glass dish with lemons or limes, cranberries, or cherries for color and height, or stand raw veggies like soldiers in a galvanized rectangle pan.
Then there’s shelter to think about. If your patio or porch lacks sufficient shade, you may need to make do with umbrellas or a canopy.
Lighting is the final point to consider. Twinkle lights aren’t necessary for a morning garden party, but if you’re doing a late-afternoon or evening bash, you might think about stringing lights around trees and plants.
If you don’t have access to string lighting, huge tea lights in hurricane lamps or paper bags packed with an inch of sand can be used around the party area. They cast a lovely glow and help to maintain the cheerful and festive mood at your celebration.
Party Decoration Ideas
A few phone calls and a fast trip to the shop may be all that is required for a casual or impromptu gathering. If, on the other hand, your garden party is a little more serious and you are known for throwing amazing parties, you should plan beforehand.
1 Month Before
For my garden party, I selected an outdoor location. Is it big enough to hold the number of guests you want? Is it protected from the elements?
So that my garden is party-ready, add more flowers, seeds, or containers. I also choose a color scheme for my tablescape and outdoor decor.
Create a menu for yourself. Is there anyone here who suffers from dietary sensitivities? What are the greatest fruits and vegetables to eat during this season? Is it alcoholic beverages, cocktails, or mocktails that you’ll be serving?
1 Week Ahead
I choose and transport patio or outdoor furniture sets, tables, and chairs to the place where my party will be held.
I plan my tablescape and either assemble or purchase everything I’ll need.
Please don’t bake! If you’re short on time, don’t bake. Focus on other components of the gathering while you present your store-bought snacks as beautifully as possible.
Don’t add to your stress by designing a menu that your kitchen won’t be able to handle. The majority of kitchens have limitations. Will huge platters of cold sandwiches, drinks, or hors d’oeuvres fit in your refrigerator? Is a food warmer necessary if your oven is small?
Reduce your menu, serve a variety of hot and warm items, and prepare some dishes ahead of time – freezing if necessary – to avoid a kitchen crunch. Cleaning out your refrigerator and removing products that may be stored in your pantry will help you reclaim refrigerator space.
Shop in stages to maintain your sanity. To save money and time, buy non-perishables early and separate your shopping by store. To save even more money, get beverages from your local beverage warehouse. This is where having a plan comes in handy.
Take a look at your menu. Check out what can be made ahead of time, frozen, and reheated. Reduce your workload so that you can enjoy your party and aren’t fatigued when the doorbell rings.
Please do not clean! If you don’t have time, cleaning your entire house before a garden party is insane. First and foremost, clean the rooms that your visitors will view and use.
The bathroom is the one location where you should spend some time scrubbing. It’s the space where guests first assess the cleanliness of the entire house. Remove everything junk, including bathrobes, and make sure the area is immaculate.
Check out your home and outside space during your garden party. Empty dishes must be removed. Rearrange and replace food as needed to keep it looking fresh and enticing.
Send Out the Party Invitations
If you’re sending out invitations, keep in mind that the invitation you choose sets the tone for the celebration. Send them out a month before the event.
There are many ready-made invitations available at stationery stores to personalize (or gain ideas!). For more casual or last-minute events, online invitations are ideal. If you prefer to make your own, good quality card material that has been simply printed or ornamented would suffice.
For more casual or last-minute gatherings, online invitations are ideal. If you’d rather make your own, decent quality card material that has been simply printed or adorned looks great.
Personalizing your invitations and place cards will elevate your party from party to event, even if you’re only inviting four people.
