Don’t you realize that one of the most common causes for couples to quarrel is money? So the added stress of paying for your expensive wedding for the next ten years isn’t exactly a bed of roses.
The good news is that you can have a wedding that looks fantastic, feels amazing, and is also budget-friendly. I’m live proof that a wedding can be had for less than $1,000. Now, I’m not going to tell you I did it all by myself… That’s absurd. I had an army of amazing women, as well as a few guys, who assisted me in achieving my goal.
I’m not like the bulk of my friends. I’m unusual in that I despise debt. Not in the least. I also feel that marrying the love of your life does not imply that you should begin your life in debt.

It’s conceivable. Consider town halls, church basements, municipal and state parks, and so forth. Weddings are permitted in all of these locations, and none of them are prohibitively expensive.
In reality, a wedding venue can easily be found for under $1000. You might even be able to find a wedding location for around $500. That’s it.
See what comes up when you Google “budget wedding venues around me.” The amount of results that appear will astound you. You just have to put in the effort to find an affordable wedding venue.
Small intimate wedding settings appeal to me
There are a number of tiny wedding venues prepared to accommodate your wedding if you look hard enough and ask around. Small modest wedding venues can be found at:
- Many local churches simply charge a “tip” on whatever you choose to pay.
- Outdoor parks – check with your city hall to see what possibilities are available.
- City Hall — It’s not the most luxurious venue, but it’s a great place to get married on the cheap.
- Consider holding your wedding at an Airbnb site – you can rent out houses with gorgeous backyards for a low price!
All of these locations are great for a low-cost wedding!
I look for low-cost wedding gowns.
You will locate a low-cost wedding gown if you search hard enough. Believe me when I say this: What’s my money-saving tip? My wedding gown was purchased from a closed wedding boutique.
This was great for me, but it wasn’t so great for them. My ideal gown, on the other hand? It was $99.00 when it was on sale. For $49. I also grabbed the matching shoes. So, for $150, I had a complete wedding outfit.
And, while this may not be a reality for everyone, you may easily locate inexpensive wedding dresses if you look hard enough.
Finally, why not ask someone if you may borrow or use their wedding gown if they have one sitting around? Isn’t it true that every bride needs to borrow someone? Wedding gown repurposing is a great vintage concept that may save you a lot of money.
Make the most of your low-cost wedding decorations
Did you realize that the majority of your wedding guests will overlook your decorations.
Seriously. The majority of your stress is generated by your thoughts. We also failed to lay down our aisle runner at our wedding, which I didn’t know until almost two weeks after the ceremony, yet no one noticed or commented on how our wedding was destroyed.
It’s a lot of fun and really easy to make your own decorations. Thankfully, my mother and friends prepared handcrafted bows to tie on the ends of the pews, and we strewn fresh flowers all over the place. Apart from that, we didn’t do much decoration at all!
How to Make a Low-Cost Wedding Seem Expensive
Overall, I don’t think our wedding appeared to be “cheap.” I was proud of how we pulled off a “DIY” wedding with the support of our entire family and friends. It was a lovely way to spend the day because we weren’t concerned about expenditures or perfection.
Looking back on our wedding day, the tuxedo rental, an exquisite bridal headpiece that I couldn’t pass up, my dress, and my shoes were the most expensive items. Other charges were strewn about, but those were the primary meat and potatoes.
