Sesame Street Party Decorations
You don’t have to turn your house into a Sesame Street DIY extravaganza to set the scene. Simply incorporate bright colors wherever possible. Rainbow balloons, streamers, and signs Under some Sesame Street plates, any color tablecloth will pop.
Maintain consistency in your paper goods by using matching napkins, cups, and party hats. Don’t be concerned about clashing colors; Sesame Street is all about being yourself.
Consider using a chalkboard theme throughout the party as decor and activity! Place brightly colored chalk near the board and invite guests, young and old, to write a birthday greeting or draw a picture for the honored guest.
Consider the three main elements of decor: something to signal the arrival of the party, something for the guests to wear, and something to designate a special “birthday area” in the home—whether that’s a cake table or a large banner.
Party Games Ideas
What’s a party without games? Simple, familiar games are best for younger children, but you can add a twist with these Sesame Street birthday party ideas.
Play hot potato, but let children pass around a stuffed Elmo while you play music from Sesame Street. The child holding Elmo when the music stops is out.
You can also play “pin the feet on Big Bird.” Make a big body out of yellow construction paper and mount it on a bulletin board or a wall at child height. Then use white, blue and black crayons to add details to his body.
Finally, make orange legs – as many as you’ll need to give one to each child. Write their names on it so you know who each one belongs to. Place a blindfold over each child and give each one a turn to tape the legs on the big bird. There will be lots of laughs. The child who gets the closest, wins!
