Dolled up as the princess with a long mane, Rapunzel theme birthday party idea is a trending one in the present time. It’s a dream for every girl to feel like a princess, and with our Rapunzel theme birthday party decoration, you can make the same possible and present you, little princess, the perfect birthday party present!
Banners
We unquestionably required a Tangled banner for a Tangled party. I used some stiff purple felt, white nautical rope, a single hole punch, hot glue, and this FREE Tangled Sun printable, all of which I already had in my craft supply stash.
I adore how this Tangled-themed banner turned out. It was made by cutting the felt into equal triangles, adhering the suns, and threading the rope through punched holes. Bonus: My daughter’s bedroom window valance is currently covered by this banner.
You can transform your home into Rapunzel’s castle using paper, ribbon, and your DIY skills! The yellow hair and golden tiara, the purple clothing, and the flowers woven into her plaited locks are the perfect color combination. Any well-decorated home will transport the kids directly to the Tangled movie!
Start decorating for your Tangled-themed party by strewing purple and yellow ribbons throughout your home. If you cut the ribbon into strips and curl it with the edge of a pair of scissors, it resembles blonde hair strands.
Yellow Crepe Paper Streamers
And let’s not forget Rapunzel’s hair, lots of hair. I went with the most frugal option, some yellow crepe paper. Strung around the room, it was a whimsical touch on a budget!
Paper Chains
Make paper chains by creating a loop out of a strip of paper and weaving other strips inside the loop you have made. This could be done out of thick yellow paper and strewn all over the house, up your stairs to make it look like Aurora’s hair
Alternatively, make a long strand of plaited hair out of yarn/wool and drape it all over the house for the same effect. You could add little purple and pink flowers into the plaited strands too.Â
Lantern
A true Tangled fan will know that every year Aurora’s parents ordered a huge lantern display on her birthday to encourage her to come home to them. You can replicate this with multicolored balloons filled and left to rise to the top of all the ceilings in the house
You could also make lanterns out of yellow and purple paper and hang them from the ceiling
Finally, make sure your child is the best dressed at their party. Make their own Rapunzel hair braid for them to wear and they will feel like a princess!
Ice Cream Cones
Make Rapunzel towers in miniature using two varieties of ice cream cones. Make the base with a ‘cake cup’ cone and the top with an upturned ‘pointed’ cone. Fill the cones with sweets or chocolate and decorate with food coloring or icing to make them seem like towers.Â
Snacks
Make sure that the majority of your party food can be shaped into plaits! Plaited breadsticks, cheese twists, twisted desserts, plaited bread rolls, and doughnuts are just a few examples. Aurora’s golden locks will be seen in all of the food.
Juices
Make sure that all of your meals and drinks are yellow and purple in color. Make drinks out of grape and orange juice, use purple dishes and glasses, and only eat purple and yellow candies.
Tangled Doughnut Tower
Glazed doughnuts, an ice cream cone dipped in purple candy melts and lots of bamboo skewers (and no one was allowed to breathe on them), this doughnut tower added some height to our day. Plus, who doesn’t love doughnuts?
Pascal Fruit Skewers
Reason why I watched Tangled again – so I could see what fruit Pascal was eating to change color at the end of the movie. So tangerine slices and purple grapes were for these fun Pascal fruit skewers (and more stock in bamboo skewers).
Golden Sun Crisped Rice TreatsÂ
Adding a little bit of golden yellow food coloring to the normal crisped rice treats plus a fun sun cookie cutter made this sweet addition a big hit with our party guests.
Pin the Hair on Rapunzel
At their Tangled theme party, we’ve come up with some amazing party games for your little one to play with all of their pals! These activities can make your child feel like a true princess while playing them. The games’ winner might even take home Aurora’s tiara!
There are tons of ‘Pin the hair’ images available online for you to print. It is also very easy to make yourself. Simply find your favorite image from Tangled after Aurora has had her long locks chopped off. Then ask the children to pin their handmade locks of hair onto it.Â
Tangled Games
Get the children to pair up with each other. One at a time they will get the chance to ‘tangle’ the other in rolls of yellow tape or ribbon. The judges will choose which child is the most ‘Tangled’!
Cut-Out
Another fun and original idea for your Tangled party is to get a photo of Aurora’s tower enlarged and printed out on card. Cut out the window at the top of the tower and all the children at your party can have their photos taken through the cut-out. Each child will look just like Rapunzel.
Plaited Strand
Teaching the kids how to build their own plaited strand of hair, filled with ribbons and flowers, just like Aurora’s, is a wonderful party idea. If your kids enjoy being creative, this is a fun party game to play. You may turn this into a competition or include it into one of our other party activities.

Another fun and original idea for your Tangled party is to get a photo of Aurora’s tower enlarged and printed out on card. Cut out the window at the top of the tower and all the children at your party can have their photos taken through the cut-out. Each child will look like just like Rapunzel
Birthday parties are always memorable and serve as a wonderful reminder of the people we care about. Celebrate to honor the party girl, much as the kingdom does for the festival of lights to commemorate Rapunzel’s birth. Your Tangled Birthday Party is the ideal way to honor your birthday girl.
