Let the guests search for dog bones you’ve hidden around the house, yard, park, or party area as a fun twist to the traditional scavenger hunt. Use fake or real dog treats as hiding places around the yard. Alternately, turn the activity into a ghost hunt by hiding plastic ghosts or suckers that have been dressed as ghosts using a tiny square of white fabric and a ribbon.
On a few of the bones you are hiding, write a number or symbol before the party. At the conclusion of the game, the partygoers who discovered the “special” bones bearing the numbers or symbols received a small reward.
Ghost Herd
In his adventures, Scooby usually ends up collecting the ghosts, and this game is a bizarre illustration of just that! a few white balloons should be inflated.
Divide the kids into two teams before the game and give each team a broom and three white balloons. Each team’s first player must take the broom and lead the “ghosts” across the field, around a predetermined turn point, and back again.
The following participant picks up the broom and leads the balloons. The winning team is the one that finishes the ghost herd first with all of its players.
If a balloon pops while playing, the player must restart the game from the beginning and use a new balloon. Have several blown up balloons ready for replacement near each team.
