Party Decorations
We recommend using the colors lime green, orange, and bright blue for balloons, streamers, partyware, and cutlery. Here are some more inventive ways to transform your home into a science laboratory:
If your child has recently completed any science projects, make sure to display them around the room.
Grow rock crystals several weeks ahead of time and place them in the party area.
Label a table “weird science,” then fill it with putty, goop, and odd toys. On the table, you can also place rulers, a clipboard, pens, water beakers, and food coloring.
Look at what your guests come up with!
Place a large periodic table of elements on the wall, or cut squares of construction paper, write a different element on each, and tape them to the walls.
Set up plastic microscopes and slides away from the food. Prepare some slides with interesting items for the children to look at, such as grass, a leaf, a piece of candy, a fingernail, fabric, or other interesting items.
