Grey, black, or white is a neutral color you can choose for the background of the invitation card. That way, your photograph would be likely as a black and white photograph also. However, if you want to use colored photograph, you may choose white background and add other colors other than black/grey, such as: gold, silver, magenta, dark blue, or any of you rfavorite color. But remember to keep them minor in compare to the dominant background color.
