Hello, Drevio readers! I’m back with you today! I was recently impressed by a mother named Ann Marie who was able to host her daughter’s birthday party.
With the modest decorations and little budget, this wonderful mother could have a great time at the party. Are you interested in learning more about her experiences? Simply read the article below!
In June of last year, my youngest child…my only girl turned sixteen. Even though she was attending school electronically and hadn’t been to her dance classes in months, we didn’t want her special day to pass without a celebration.
Last year was a horrible year for everyone, but I believe it was especially difficult for teenagers. And, despite the fact that things were different at the time, you only turn 16 once, right? Happy sixteenth birthday!
How did my baby get to be 16? It’s incredible how quickly time passes, and she’ll soon be 17 years old. What!?!
Enough with the whining, mom! Let’s get back to the grind.
16th birthday bash! How were we going to commemorate my Emma’s wonderful sixteenth birthday?
We planned a surprise party for her at home with a handful of her closest friends.
I enjoy throwing parties at home and immediately began brainstorming ideas for how to make Emma’s celebration particularly memorable.
Her buddy made her some adorable rhinestone-studded sunglasses, and I purchased her a Sweet Sixteen headband, so she was off to a fantastic start after going in to her friends’ surprise!
We kept things basic at the party and concentrated on what teenagers enjoy. Selfies, music, and food!
We had the perfect dance floor after moving the table out of the dining room.
Music was given by a phone-connected portable speaker.
Glow sticks are a must-have for any dance party. Emma and her friends danced all night long while wearing some wonderful glow bracelets and necklaces!
I chose to serve snacks rather than a meal because the celebration was in the evening. Emma is a popcorn enthusiast. As a result, putting together a popcorn bar was the ideal celebration snack.
Another easy sweet 16 birthday party idea is to set up a popcorn bar. It’s fantastic for any party you’re throwing, though.
It limits your alternatives so you don’t have to worry about trying to match together a bunch of various meal concepts.
Plus, the gold and white combination looks stunning. Isn’t that completely right?
I purchased popcorn at our neighborhood movie theater and a variety of toppings.
It was a huge hit during her celebration, and the kids adored it!
A popcorn bar is a great touch to any theme.
What do I need to do to get ready for the photo backdrops?
Emma and her pals needed a spot to take pictures and selfies, so I built one for them.
Don’t we all enjoy taking photos with our friends?
We didn’t have much time, so I sought Anne’s assistance to hang this DIY photo booth while Emma was out with a friend just as the party guests began to arrive. It was a basic but lovely backdrop for photographs.
I prepared a photo display of Emma on each of her birthdays to give a little personal touch.
It’s a simple 16th birthday idea that took little time to put together.
And this idea can be used for a variety of occasions, including birthdays, graduations, anniversaries, weddings, bridal or baby showers.
Target sells gold and white foil paper fans, and Party City sells a happy birthday banner.
I used double-stick tape to adhere the lettering from the banner to the wall above the dessert bar, along with the paper fans. Some of the fans were also hung from the chandelier in the dining room (also known as the dancing room).
#16 party decor can be seen just behind the drink table.
Those are Hobby Lobby paper mache numbers that I spray-painted gold to match Emma’s 16th birthday party décor.
In their senior year, I painted these numbers in school colors and utilized them for both of my sons’ graduation celebrations.
Keeping the color scheme similar throughout all of these sweet 16 birthday party ideas makes everything appear to be adorned without having to spend a lot of money on decorations.
We did serve cupcakes to her guests because, after all, who doesn’t adore cake?!
After I added some gorgeous gold sprinkles to some cheap tiny cupcakes from the grocery store, they looked even better.
It was a lot of joy throwing this party for our sweet girl, and she had a wonderful time celebrating with her pals.
