Today I’m pleased to share my tropical dinner party tablescape with a bohemian flair with you.
My black and tan patio décor with greenery inspired this outdoor summer table arrangement, which went perfectly with these tropical plates I dressed four different ways.
The earthy and boho-style features, such as the woodgrain dinner plates, the macramé runner, and succulents, brought it all together beautifully.
Green has always been a neutral color to me. Because it’s a natural color, it works well with practically every other hue. I started with neutrals and added green as a huge splash of color. Don’t you think it came out nice and warm?
When possible, I like to stick to a theme with all of my dinner party menus. Because the party’s theme color is green, I’ve chosen some foods that go well with the theme.
To begin, I made a refreshing Cucumber and Mint Lemonade cocktail. This delightful signature drink is made with a little gin or vodka with cucumber ribbons and mint sprigs.
Make these champagne and Midori drinks if you want to serve a green-tinted drink. They’re a lot of fun!
Pour the cocktails ahead of time into glasses that may be placed in a large basin of ice. For a decorative touch, place succulents in the bowl. As soon as guests enter, they can grab a refreshing drink.
For appetizers, I placed a plate of steamed edamame in the shell dusted with sea salt in the center of the table. I got the concept from a recent visit to an Asian-fusion restaurant for a friend’s birthday celebration.
It was a fun and involved way to eat something light before dinner, something along the lines of chips and salsa for a Mexican theme. Don’t forget to set aside a second plate or small bowl for the shells that will be tossed.
I like to serve something light and easy for the main course, such as grilled lemon and herb chicken (from this al fresco dinner party menu). A chopped sala is the ideal side dish.
I’ve recently become fascinated with chopped salads, eating them three to four times each week! You may buy the bags at the supermarket and it will appear as if you’ve been cutting all day!
Make your own tropical-boho table arrangement and enjoy the summer in style.
The use of tropical plants and succulents to help create a “room” atmosphere outdoors is one of the most prominent parts of this green party decor. A succulent “runner” and tiny sprigs affixed to name cards continue the theme on the table.
For each place setting, layer plates to mimic the look of wood, marble, and the tropics.
Wooden napkin rings balance the green glasses and napkins, while gold flatware and lanterns lend “jewelry” to the table.
The candle chandelier covered in foliage is another eye-catching feature of the party scene. This attracts the attention upward and provides a lot of atmosphere. Just make sure the greens aren’t too close to any lit candles.
The addition of floral arrangements to this theme wonderfully demonstrates how flowers can lend a touch of luxury to an event. With a mix of vibrant flowers and a variety of greenery, you can create your own lovely, tropical atmosphere — easy yet effective!
Hot pink balloons in a large size will bring some color and excitement to your bridal shower without taking away from the luxurious feel. Attach fronds or other vegetation to their strings to make them blend in with your tropical motif.
Mix and match cushions around the base of each wooden table to complete your tropical décor. These prints are not only appealing to the eye, but they also appear to be comfy, attracting guests to the table and encouraging them to sit, mingle, and unwind.
Items like this can be obtained from friends, family, thrift stores, or companies that rent out objects for occasions.
