In August, my husband and I will have been married for ten years, so we’re throwing a party to commemorate the occasion! This seems like the ideal time to share some fantastic wedding anniversary celebration ideas with you!
A wedding anniversary party is a lovely opportunity to commemorate your marriage with friends and family. While you may not want to do it every year, you are likely to want to commemorate significant events. So, if you’re looking for anniversary party inspiration, keep reading.
Think of a concept.
Consider a party theme. You can fully embrace the above-mentioned gift concept for your wedding or go with a whole different theme if you choose. If you and your partner both enjoy going to the beach, for example, a beach theme is the way to go!
Alternatively, if you enjoy traveling, make a theme out of one of your favorite places. Alternatively, you might choose a decade such as the 1950s, 1980s, or even the decade in which you married.
You can make your wedding anniversary party as formal or informal as you choose. Make a celebration that reflects your and your spouse’s characteristics. To put it another way, if you don’t like formal events, try something more relaxed.
If you prefer a more personal setting, perhaps only the two of you and a small group of family members will attend. What matters is that you celebrate your marriage and all of the beautiful years you’ve shared together.
Decorate with a traditional gift.
Each wedding anniversary comes with a unique present for your spouse. While some have been updated over time, others have not. Try to include that thing in your celebrations no matter what year it is. It could be the party decorations, the platters on which the food is served, or even the favors you give out to your attendees.
Although there appear to be differences around the world, certain of the years are well-established and remain the same.
Since we’re celebrating our tenth anniversary, I’m planning on upcycling tin cans (I’m saving all the empty food cans we open!). Despite the fact that they’re probably not made of tin!) like flower vases and tin can luminaries in the decor.
Each anniversary is also marked with a flower. The daffodil is the flower for the tenth wedding anniversary. Flowers may be used to provide color to every occasion, regardless of the year.
If the flower that corresponds to your year isn’t in season, you can substitute artificial flowers or use the flowers from your bridal bouquet to decorate. That’s exactly what I’m planning for our party, with freesias, white roses, and lisianthus in my bouquet.
Wedding photos are a beautiful and simple way to adorn the place. Print a few of your best images. Then you may go to a thrift store to collect a range of frames and paint them all to match, or you can go to a discount store to buy cheap frames.
Alternatively, you might make a photo book with memories from your married life and distribute it at your reception. Make a double-duty photo book by including some blank areas for guests to leave remarks.
Select foods that have a special meaning for you.
At your wedding, what did you serve? What was your partner’s first meal? Is there a dish that you enjoy the most? Select a menu with a specific significance.
Alternatively, if there was anything you wanted to serve during your wedding but couldn’t because of a scheduling conflict, serve it at your anniversary party instead. We intend to do it as well.
Make a playlist with your favorite music
Without dancing, what would a party be? Make a playlist with your favorite songs on it. Remember to include your first dance music, or a song that you characterize as your song if you don’t have one.
What about the songs you heard during your wedding? Add these to the playlist as well. To keep the party going, add a mix of slow and quick tracks.
Capture Your Moments!
Create a fun photo booth for all of the couples at the party to celebrate love. Check out thrift stores and discount retailers like the Poundshop (UK) or Dollar Tree for inexpensive photo booth props (US).
Even thick cardboard and paint can be used to create your own. If you’re not too crafty, you could use one of the many free printables available online — I did this for my husband’s 40th birthday a few years ago!
The image also demonstrates that a photo booth does not require a large, sophisticated space; a corner of a room would do!
Marriage is a unique bond that binds two individuals for the rest of their lives. That is why anniversaries are worthwhile to commemorate.
People commemorate that wonderful and pleasant moment in their lives when they made a pledge to spend the rest of their lives with their significant other by commemorating wedding anniversaries.
