The Secret Garden is a classic story that I don’t recall ever reading but recall seeing on television as a child. Despite the fact that the story and film are aimed at children, the overgrown secret garden, which is dotted with exquisite roses and natural beauty, has a great deal of romance tied to it. Today’s wedding concept is inspired by the colorful picture connected with The Secret Garden, and it’s bursting with stunning blossoms with a dark and sinister edge, as you might expect. Prepare to fall in love all over again with this childhood favorite!
So, with gates concealed behind brambles, overgrown walks, and stunning flowers wrapped around gazebos, my friend incorporated her Secret Garden wedding concept into the wonderful setting.
The Secret Garden Wedding Ideas
Weddings in the garden and in secret gardens are always a possibility, especially in the spring and summer. Many couples choose to tie the knot in a stunning garden because they are attractive, elegant, soft, and beautiful, especially now that destination weddings are so difficult to organize. If you’re planning a garden wedding and need some inspiration, we’ve compiled a list of the most stunning garden and secret garden wedding decorations we could locate.
The Secret Garden Decorations
We had the brilliant idea of decorating their clear top tent with a big ceiling installation consisting of thousands of twinkling lights to give it a “hidden garden” atmosphere for this lovely wedding. It doesn’t get much more dreamy than that, does it? With their rich arrangements full of loose greenery and pristine white blossoms, the florist blew us away. It was all the couple had dreamed for, and then some!
Taxidermy wild creatures and elegant manor house furniture are strewn over the yard, alluding to the story’s more magical aspects. With traditional furniture, wild flowers, and rich floral décor, you might create a gorgeous look for your own wedding.
Soft pink napkins folded into flowers, glitzy gold silverware, and, of course, additional luscious flowers were used to add to the opulence.
The “key” detailing throughout is a subtle tribute to The Secret Garden and would be a great (and quite easy) way to add some subtle whimsy to your wedding day.
The bridal clothes were maintained bold and stylish to keep the idea from feeling too infantile. The soft pink cosmetics and large floral crowns that are associated with The Secret Garden are more feminine in nature.
We intended to make an extravagant ceiling installation out of thousands of twinkling lights in a clear top tent. The result created the illusion of a twinkling chandelier, which was stunning to see. The tablescapes were topped with lush blooms in hues of white and loose foliage, as well as potted Phalaenopsis orchids, the bride’s favorite flower.
The best spot for a specialty cocktail was an expansive bar. Hundreds of candles were placed on top of the stage front to add to the atmosphere. As they took their seats, guests were greeted with stunning engraved crystal charger plates and stemware. Hand-tied with dusty blue silk ribbon on crisp linen hemstitch napkins.
Guests were greeted by waitresses wearing monogrammed aprons and platters who offered them a fresh martini as they exited the church. With blush velvet sofa vignettes near to the tent, the lawn was lovely and inviting. The seating arrangements were located on a vertical display of vases with candles. While hot air balloons soared above in the skies, Denny White performed live music while visitors enjoyed light nibbles and drinks. In every sense, the day was wonderful!
Styles and Color Schemes
Stick to your color plan or palette while selecting table decor. You’re stuck for inspiration. Garden couples frequently choose pastels since charming and delicate pastel blooms are completely lovely, and you may also see vibrant and jewel tone wedding tablescapes, the first in the summer and the second in the fall.
Most couples opt for a more refined and vintage style that includes gold edge glasses, vintage cutlery, and sophisticated placemats; such a setting is perfect for both a secret garden and a traditional outdoor table setting.
Modern styles are also a good option if you don’t like vintage. A modern backyard wedding would look great with solid color plates, chargers, and placemats, as well as basic modern flatware and elegant yet casual glasses.
Secret Garden Wedding Cakes
Flowers, as well as your outdoor wedding cake, are required for any garden wedding. Fresh flowers are the most common way to decorate a wedding cake of this type, and they can be used to top it, cover each tier, or be placed between them. Garden blooms or wildflowers come in a variety of colors.
A white buttercream wedding cake with pressed edible flowers is excellent if you want a modern design. Make your wedding cake extra special by combining fresh flowers, berries, fruits, gold foil, and beads. Another popular trend right now is to decorate your cake with dried flowers, colorful drops, meringues, berries, and leaves.
Sugar blossoms are ideal if you want everything to be edible and if you want to create an artistic look. Sugar flowers can be used to cover the entire cake or just a portion of it, and they can be coupled with genuine ones to make the sugar ones appear more natural. To make the cake seem cooler and taste sweeter, combine sugar blossoms with foliage, fresh fruits, and berries.
I adore the idea of a secret garden wedding; it captures everything you want your wedding day to be — dreamy, romantic, and as if you’ve created your own private world for you and your closest friends and family.
