Bright, vibrant flashes of color scream “fiesta party,” and with summer quickly approaching, now is the perfect time to transform your garden into a Viva La Fiesta ready for your baby shower party. For the ideal Viva La Fiesta celebration, mix a variety of bright pinks, oranges, yellows, and blues.
Let’s get this party started with some of our must-haves, such as decorations, dinnerware, and a range of games to keep things interesting.
Party Decorations
It’s a lot of fun to decorate for a Mexican fiesta! The vibrant hues create a cheerful ambiance. You’ll be ready in no time if you add a few iconic pieces like sombreros and serapes (woven Mexican blankets with fringes on the corners).
No party would be complete without a few decorations to fill the space, and we’ve chosen vibrant colors to match the tableware. Sticking to one color isn’t as important as you may think; the more colors you use, the better your Mexicana theme will seem.
Let’s start with our multi-colored fringe drape, which is the most vibrant of the decorations. It’s the ideal way to bring a splash of color to your celebration, plus it doubles as a photo booth backdrop.
Table Setting
Tableware is up next. Say goodbye to the usual (and perhaps dull) paper plates and napkins; we’ve taken it to the next level, providing you with vibrant dinnerware ideal to complement your Mexicana theme.
Serve your food on Avocado-shaped paper plates with nacho napkins and Cactus-shaped paper cups—tell us if this doesn’t tick all the boxes and turn your fiesta into the ultimate fiesta!
Use our wooden cutlery to complete the look, or stock up on margarita glasses for the grownups to add a special touch.
Mexicana Bar Cart
Now don’t get us wrong, we’re not saying a bar cart is the next party essential, but it definitely adds a bit of something extra to your party and will look impressive in photos. Have fun spicing up your bar cart ready for your fiesta party, but if you need a little inspiration, here’s how we decorated ours.
We’ve used our Llama and cactus bunting to hang along the bar cart, along with our Mexican style tableware to complete the look.
You can serve any drinks you choose for your viva la fiesta bar cart; however, we’ve gone for Tequila to keep in with the theme. We’d love to know how you choose to decorate your Mexican themed bar cart, so let us know how it turns out!
Party Food Ideas
Given that you’ll be offering party food and nibbles to your guests, this is a fantastic time to be creative with your theme. Here are a few of our favorite Mexican-inspired meals to try.
- Nacho’s
- A Taco buffet
- Fajitas
- Tortillas with salsa and guacamole dips.
If you’re hosting at home and have a kitchen, these are all excellent options. If you’re throwing the party at your neighborhood park, though, you might want to choose food that’s easy to serve and transport.
Perhaps a buffet of Mexican-style cuisine or anything brightly colored, such as nachos, tiny tacos or burritos, colorful salads, tortilla crisps with guacamole and salsa dips, might be appropriate. Don’t be concerned if the food you serve isn’t traditionally Mexican; the tableware will speak for itself.
If you’re inviting children, you might want to provide a few additional child-friendly selections. Fruit salads, sausage rolls, bite-sized cheeses, vegetable sticks, or breadsticks/tortilla crisps are examples of snacks and finger foods that fit your theme.
