Is it just me, or has the trend for succulent terrariums gone a little too far? I’ve seen them all over Instagram, Pinterest, and even a feature on This Morning about how to make your own ( a not so guilty pleasure of mine).
Cacti, on the other hand, struck me as a terrific alternative to more traditional flowers for your wedding. They also have the benefit of lasting longer, so you won’t have to face the sad reality of throwing out your bouquet because it has turned sludgy and nasty.
So, without further ado, here are some of our favorite ways to incorporate succulents and cacti into your big day styling (including your wedding day!).
Cactus Wedding Themed, How does it Work?
Cactus fans have a wide range of aesthetics to pick from when it comes to weddings. They can aim for a bohemian, desert, or southwestern theme. A combination of all of the above, in our opinion, is the best. It’s entirely up to you and your vision how much or how little you use cactus greens.
The beauty of boho wedding décor is that the guidelines are flexible, and the execution is usually inexpensive. The majority of boho wedding decorations are inspired by nature and other cultures, including Pagan, Native American, Wiccan, Celtic, and Persian. Its origins can be traced back to the 1960s hippy movement.

First, I start with the primary components, such as the wedding gown, cake, and natural elements of the site, while deciding on my bohemian wedding decor ideas. This will ensure that all of the little details have a visual connection to one another.
My Wedding Party Decorations
I arranged my boho wedding table decorations, which were meant to be warm, inviting, and clutter-free. A large single (or a few) tables, rather than a smattering of smaller tables, is a trend I adore. Everyone can eat together in this manner.
The boho bride favors sturdy old wood tables. For the table runner, I go with macrame, neutral-toned linen, or a single, understated color. For a more natural aesthetic, a line of cascading blossoms might be used in place of the fabric runner.
Old-world things are frequently preferred by boho brides because of their dependability and simplicity. To decorate my table, I use ancient thick glass, discs of wood, floating candles or flower petals, and single-color bouquets. I should keep my design decisions constant and borrow from nature whenever possible.
Metallics work well in a bohemian setting. Texture, patterns, and muted or neutral colors should be avoided in flatware and silverware.
To make the experience a little more sophisticated, you can use gold, silver, bronze, or brass. Consider printing your menu on seeded paper to give a touch of nature to your menu.
Make sure to incorporate images or materials that are frequently used, such as a crescent moon or macrame. Aside from that, I try to keep things light and natural. I use paint to transform an old mirror, glass, or piece of wood. Replacing paper with linen or another printable fabric is another lovely trend to consider.
Lightweight fabrics and blooms should be used to decorate boho wedding chairs. The backs of chairs are usually braided or open. Chairs might be mismatched in the boho mood, which adds to the appeal. Vintage furniture with a focus on comfort above aesthetic should be available in lounge spaces.
I keep a few essential elements in mind when planning my bohemian wedding ceremony décor. Bohemian decor concepts are closely related with words like tranquility, peace, nature, free-spiritedness, spirituality, individualism, and nonconformity. Keep this in mind as you make your decisions, and you’ll have a stunning bohemian wedding on your hands.
Cacti were used to compliment floral arrangements on tables and desktops. Cacti look great on a table, especially when there are a variety of colors, shapes, and kinds. Cactus provides a little texture to your table floral arrangement. This is especially true if you don’t have any flowers on hand and live in a humid area.
However, when mixing cactus and flowers for table floral arrangements, I make sure the flowers are smaller than the cacti. This will allow the blooms to be seen while keeping the cacti at bay. If the flowers, on the other hand, are taller than the cacti, they will need to be removed and trimmed in large numbers.
The Wedding Cake Decorations
We all know how important cakes are at weddings. Cacti themes help me add additional detail to my cake. You may even use succulents to garnish the cake instead of grass or flowers to save money.
As a nod to the Southwest region, where succulents are natural plants, I place one on top of the cake with flowers cascading over it or alongside dishes. Our guests will be reminded of the beauty that may be found in a harsh desert as a result of this.
Cactus can also be included in your wedding cake by adding a few on top and around the base. Cacti can represent growth, rejuvenation, or simply add a unique shape to a typical cake!
Where to Host Your Wedding?
A wedding beneath or near a gorgeous treehouse in the forest is one of the most bohemian wedding theme ideas to explore. After the ceremony, there will be a magical reception under the canopy of the trees. On sites like Airbnb, you might be able to discover the ideal treehouse. This is a fantastic idea for a little wedding. For a magical experience, string lights from the treehouse and set up a DJ among the trees.
