Unbeknownst to the homeowner and housekeeper, Arrietty is a tiny teenager who lives with her parents in a basement apartment in a suburban house. Like other members of her species, Arrietty hides from her human hosts, but she occasionally emerges from beneath the floorboards to steal supplies like sugar cubes.
When 12-year-old Shawn meets Arrietty, they develop a secret friendship, but their relationship may be dangerous for Arrietty’s family.
