Hello everyone, I hope you all had a fantastic weekend? Was it warm and sunny where you were? We were able to catch a ray of sunshine, which was lovely. We’re trying to take advantage of any opportunity to get outside right now, as I’m sure Autumn will be knocking on our door very soon!
I’m beginning the week off with this gorgeous English country wedding, which was held in the bride’s parents’ back garden, making it even more intimate and picturesque. They wanted a rustic vibe, so they went all out with the design, from the lovely flowers to the wicker baskets and really cute lettering.
A day of love, laughing, delicious food, live music, and lots of alcohol! The wedding ceremony was held in the local village church, and the reception was held in the bride’s parents’ lawn in a huge tipi with an English country garden/rustic theme!
Bianca and John have put together a stunning wedding day and provided an abundance of food and drink for their guests.
What did they do with their budget?
The budget was slashed, but the tipi, food, open bar, and live band were prioritized because we thought these aspects would be crucial in setting the tone.
We splurged on food and alcohol while saving money on the rustic details we created, such as flower jars and signage. We also saved money by not providing wedding favors; no one ever takes them, and even if they do, we are rarely used. We used VM Bespoke to machine cut the place names in wood; we were around £1 each or less.
Wedding Decoration Ideas
I decorated their baskets, trunks, and hampers with dried hops and hung them in the tipis as well.
In the tipis, we also had fairy lights (provided by the tipi company). We had wooden hearts and other rustic wooden items that could be had for a low price at places like the Range. We decorated the top table with bright bunting and placed homemade placards throughout the area.
With light blue, a rough color theme of an English summer country garden. Pinks, foliage, and traces of the bridesmaids’ light blue were used in the bouquets.
Lavender Hill Company in Bourne, Farnham, provided the flowers. We decided for a rustic look with lots of greenery and herbs in pinks and blues, all hand-tied. To decorate the venue, we had enormous milk churns loaded with flowers, including delphiniums, flowers on each table in small glass jars, and flowers in other props, such as an old bicycle. We wanted a laid-back, rustic country vibe.
We designed and constructed our own wooden signs. We slept in a bell tent on our wedding night (which had a double bed in, from Beautiful World Tents, same supplier as the tipi). The golf-themed table arrangement and tipi cutout on the invites were ideas we came up with.
We handled almost all of the planning ourselves because it was a home wedding and we didn’t have an event planner or hotel manager to assist us. As a result, we had to hire a generator, as well as bathrooms and even tablecloths! There was a lot of paperwork to deal with.
Wedding Table Design
A lengthy flower arrangement stretched down the center of the bridal table as a magnificent centrepiece. The rest of the table was designed with a minimalist look in mind, with transparent drinking cups and seats. At either end of the table, white dinnerware and pastel pink tall candles sat.
Flower Ideas
The vibrant color scheme emphasizes the arrival of summer. Flowers are in full bloom, their petals extended out to expose their dazzling complexion, and the hours of sunlight are at their greatest. The major colors used regularly are pale pink, coral, and leafy green, with lilac and a rustier shade of coral utilized as accents. Summery, gentle, and feminine is the overall palette. A semi-circular flower arrangement was created to frame the pair at the top of the basic wedding aisle, in addition to the bridal bouquet. The semi-circle provided an intimate and customized environment for the couple to say their vows.
Wedding Cakes
Cakes by Nina in Camberley created our cake for us. It was costly, but it was well worth the money. To match the flower/color design, we had a bespoke cake built to look like a birch tree, complete with flowers and mushrooms. Nina created sugar owls as the cake topper because we both like owls (oddly enough). All the lovely sugar blossoms have been saved. We had various cakes in each layer, one of which was cookies and cream – all of which were delectable and warmly received by the guests.
Other option you may choose is the buttercream brushstrokes on the cake’s surface create subtle texture by using a neutral color palette. The three-tier cake, which is adorned with pink and coral roses, is classic and perfectly complements the shoot.
Simply because it’s your wedding day doesn’t mean you have to serve simply cake. A dessert table is enjoyable, and you can serve your favorite sweet sweets as the bride and groom. Macaroons are a wonderful complement to any dessert table because they’re little, easy to eat, and sugary.
Wedding Dress Ideas
The bride changes her hairstyle and clothes numerous times, from tussled boho waves to a taller messier bun to a low bun ideal for veiling. Her gowns comprised a tulle ball gown with a vintage-style high neck and short sleeves, as well as an embroidered, tie shoulder, V-neck dress with an A-line skirt and a side split. Each outfit featured a unique dress and hairstyle, yet they were all as enchanting and charming.
The groom donned a two-piece suit with a mauve-wood color scheme that went wonderfully with the wedding colors. An floral printed pocket square, tie, and bow tie added a fun and summery element to his otherwise sophisticated and conservative ensemble.
