This party is characterized by Harry Potter’s Hogwarts-inspired delicacies. Snitch cake pops, a Sorting Hat cake, chocolate frogs, and Dobby candy favors all contribute to the overall theme of the celebration.
Props like a caged owl, labeled potion jars, an authentic-looking Sorting Hat, and a Quidditch broom set the tone for a fantastic celebration!
Hogwarts Party Ideas
If you’re a Harry Potter fanatic like us, you might want to hold your own Hogwarts Party. There are a lot of amazing ideas out there, so we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorites.
We’re looking forward to trying our hand at the transfiguration photo booth and creating cupcakes. The Harry Potter unicorn blood favor concept, as well as the potion jar centerpieces, are not to be missed. There’s a lot of magic to be made.
Hogwarts Party Decorations
Harry Potter is a family favorite, so it’s no wonder that your children choose a Hogwarts-themed birthday party. As a result, we’ve got a ton of Harry Potter party decoration ideas to offer.
If you want to have your own party, this is the place to go for crafts, invites, and Harry Potter party goodies, among other things. We’ll even provide you with some handouts to make things simpler.
Photo booth
Create your own Harry Potter party transfiguration photo booth by hanging a black sheet or curtain as a backdrop. For a picture op, incorporate movie-inspired items like wizard robes and caps, magic wands, toy owls, and brooms.
Fake stone wall
With a great Harry Potter fake stone wall guide, you can transform your party venue into something that looks like Hogwarts Castle. Old white bed linens, Rit Dye, salt, spray paint, and a vinyl stone pattern are all needed (or substitute).
Harry Potter great hall
The setting for an excellent Harry Potter Great Hall eating area is a stone wall background with Hogwarts house flags. The LED floating candles, suspended on fishing line and push pins, have to be the nicest detail!
DIY Table Quidditch
Was it really a simple DIY table Quidditch game made out of sand, sewing hoops, and empty soda bottles? With only three short holes to drill in dowel rods, little assembly with a hot glue gun, and a coat of gold spray paint, this is a simple DIY.
Beer Pong with a Harry Potter theme (but Butterbeer would make a magical substitution).
Hogwarts Party Cakes
When guests at a Hogwarts party see the Mandrake cupcakes, they’ll enjoy the allusion to Herbology Class.
These cupcakes resemble potted plants, but they’re actually chocolate cupcakes topped with chocolate nonpareils and topped with a fondant Mandrake head and a piece of edible plant.
The Harry Potter Butterbeer cupcakes, which taste like a combination between French toast and Butterbeer, will cast a spell on your guests’ taste buds! Hello, toffee pieces are required in the recipe!
And there are lightning bolt sprinkles on the cupcakes! They sound amazing!
Hogwarts Party Games & Activities
Snape’s slime
Make slime with your party attendees in Potions class by labeling a Ziploc baggie “Snape’s Slime.” It’s simply a basic mixture of water, Borax, and white glue that’s a lot of fun to produce. A few drops of green food coloring give the slime an unsettling green tinge.
Hogwarts House Cup
Who among the Harry Potter party guests wouldn’t be ecstatic if their house won the Hogwarts House Cup?
You may make one yourself as a game reward by adhering a cheap gold trophy to a wood base. Notice the “Hogwarts House Cup” printable label on the front, as well as the movie pass rewards poking out of the cup?
Potion class
To recreate one of Snape’s potion courses, have guests pick an essential oil they enjoy the scent of, blend it with a carrier oil, and add it (or have a parent apply it) to a rollerball with a potion label.
Make sure that young witches and wizards understand that these medicines are only meant to be rolled on their skin, not eaten!
Magic wand activities
We all know that the wand picks the wizard in the Harry Potter universe. However, since Olivander was apprehended in the Deathly Hallows book, there isn’t a wizard who can produce wands. As a result, the children were forced to create their own.
