Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to the celebration of love. There is always something to celebrate on February 14th, whether you have someone important in your life to celebrate with right now or whether you’re arranging a Valentine’s Day celebration with your loved ones.
Valentine Party Ideas
Valentine’s Day is no longer just a day for couples to celebrate. Today, Valentine’s Day is an occasion to show your love for all of your relationships. What better way to commemorate love than to throw a party? The store sells lovely cardboard Valentines and a carton of chalky candy hearts.
This year, be the friend in your group that goes above and above for Valentine’s Day and throws a party that makes everyone feel the love.
From food to entertainment to decorations, we’ll show you how to do it all and create lasting memories! Let’s talk about Valentine’s Day party ideas that your friends and family will remember, while spending nearly nothing and not feeling stingy!
Party Decorations
The first step in preparing a Valentine’s Day party is to look around your house to see what you currently have that can be used as decorations. Don’t get too worked up about having to go out and buy a bunch of new goods. Most likely, you already have a number of items that will work for your celebration.
Although red and pink are classic Valentine’s Day colors, you don’t have to go overboard with that color scheme. Accent your white table linens or black furnishings with red and pink.
Similarly, if you prefer to decorate with flowers and balloons, adding one red one to your bouquet of whites would give it an attractive touch. Bright red roses and carnations should be arranged among white lilies and baby’s breath.
Rose petals, in keeping with the flower motif, are ideal for adding a romantic touch to your party decor. You can scatter them on your serving table or even stuff them into your ice cube trays before freezing them.
Lit candles can lend a charming touch to a nighttime gathering, depending on the vibe you want to create. Consider draping some mini-lights throughout your party space to create a lovely glow.
Flowers Arranging
Arranging flowers can be a lot of pleasure. Give each guest a vase, a bouquet of flowers, and some flower-arranging tips from a pro. The results can be used as beautiful party decorations, and guests can take the fruits of their labor home with them when the party is finished. Make heart-shaped flower wreaths instead of bouquets as a variation on this theme.
Photo Booth
A Valentine’s Day photo booth is an enjoyable party activity as well as an attractive focal point. A solid white or red background accented with balloons and paper heart garlands of contrasting colors will really make the photos pop. If you use an instant camera, your friends can take their photos home as a keepsake.
Party Games & Activities
These Valentine party games are a great way to spice up any Valentine’s Day celebration! They’re suitable for both children and adults, and can even be used for Valentine’s Day school parties. Simply get a few items from around the house, find some people to play with, and have a great time playing Valentine’s Day games all day!
Who’s Who?
You will need sticker paper and a marker for this game. Write down the name of at least twenty romance films, Titanic, Love Actually, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Notebook, etc., on the stickers. As your guests arrive, put one on their back. Throughout the party they can ask questions about their movie but no one can reveal the answer. Once they have guessed correctly you can award them a small prize.
Cupid’s Challenge
You will need stickers, any type will do, for this game. The purpose of this game is to watch what you say. Pick keywords that your guests are forbidden from saying. Anything to do with Valentine’s Day will work, like; love, heart, dating, single….etc. Each time someone says one of the words, they get a sticker on them. The guest with the most stickers at the end of the party loses and is crowned cupid.
Name That Love Song
Pick out several lines from love songs and write them down on sheets of paper. You can use old songs like “I Will Survive”, “Baby I Love Your Way” or more current songs like “Your Body Is a Wonderland” and “Love You like a Love Song.” Give each guest a song and they are to do a dramatic reading of the song. Have the other players try to guess the name of the song. The one with the most correct guesses wins.
I Never
This is a fun drinking game for Valentine’s Day. It’s also a great opportunity for your guests to find out interesting things about each other. Guests are to sit in a circle with a drink. The first person begins with “I never…” and follows up with something like “I never had a one night stand” and those that this is the truth do not have to drink.
Those that are guilty of this must drink. Continue on around the circle until everyone has had their fill for the night.
