Onward is a wonderful movie to base a party on. You get to send your guests on a quest to find a phoenix diamond. They must learn spells to employ with their magical wizard staff. Your party members will learn a beat game and cross a cavern. They will venture through the dungeons of a gelatinous cube and face a curse dragon.
Here’s how we put together an Onward theme birthday party for our kids, complete with themed clothing, activities, Onward-inspired food, and more! Continue reading to learn more about the ideas we have for you!
Party Foods Ideas
Yet throwing a birthday celebration? Always fun food is involved! Throw the healthy out the window and make it a dinner to look forward to and remember, am I right?
It was simple to put together some random foods to make a theme out of them as we’re currently under shelter in place and I’ve been trying to get fun snack stuff that we don’t often eat during “regular life” anyhow, from magic potion punch to Onward cheese puff boats!
Here’s what we serve:
- Onward Staffs: Cheese Filled Pretzels (super good btw)
- Phenix Gems: Raspberries
- Blue Elf Epic Quest Jello: Blue Jello
- Potion Punch: Fruit Punch
- Cave River Boats: Cheese Puffs
- Disappearing Bites: Cinnamon and Sugar Coated Pretzels
- Galactic Guinevere Crunches: Star Crunch
Party Costumes
Dressing up for a birthday party is a simple way to make it more enjoyable! Getting dressed in theme made it more fun, especially now that we’re in pjs or play clothes, and the kids kept asking why they had to get dressed, which generated anticipation for what was to follow!
The characters in Onward are very 90s grunge vibes – lots of denim and flannel so it’s easy to pull things together from your wardrobe and easy for everyone to look the part.
We gathered up some of Daddy’s clothes..a backwards hoodie makes a great body and easy face. We stuffed him using pillows for the body and large blankets for the legs, head and arms. He turned out pretty epic and even the toddler kept pointing at him and saying “Daddy!”
Party Invitation
Ian and Barley Lightfoot, two wonderful elf brothers, are featured in Onward Invites, which you may use to invite your visitors. Make announcements for your event using distinctive blue graphics and the phrase “Party Time.” These party invitations can be customized, and you can send them to your loved ones. Get them anticipating the approaching Onward birthday celebration!
FYI, every template in our site is coming for free and can be customized using your laptop, desktop and even through your smartphone.
